Our story
Twelve centuries on the hill of Verona
A king's gift, a Benedictine monastery, a family of purveyors to Kings and Popes. The story of the house, from the 9th century to today.

The gift of King Pepin
The property was part of a larger estate that King Pepin gave to the Abbey of San Zeno in the year 807.

The Benedictine monks
On the hill overlooking Verona the Benedictine monks built a monastery and cultivated its terraces. Its ancient water cistern is today the heart of the house.

The Delser family
Coming from Vienna, Carlo Delser and his brothers, Knights of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, helped shape the Italian food industry and became official purveyors to the Italian Royal Family and the Vatican Palaces.

A house like a museum
Alberto Delser, a doctor by training and a product designer schooled at Central Saint Martins in London, turned the ancient cistern into a private residence: hospitality that feels like a collection of stone, art and the quiet of the hill.
